Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio love each other so much. Leo is Marty’s contemporary muse, and they have made five movies together. I think — correct me if I’m wrong — but let’s run down the titles really quick: Gangs of New York, The Aviator, The Departed, Shutter Island, and this month’s The Wolf of Wall Street. Yep, that’s five. Leo and Marty also share a very special father-son type of relationship which shows in joint interviews. Martin calls Leo, “my boy.” Awww.
This week’s issue of the Enquirer has a story about how Martin has tried to give Leo some “tough love” regarding his career. The article says Leo was venting to Marty after George Clooney shaded him in Esquire last month for being the “trash-talking” leader of the basketball-handicapped p-ssy posse. George is basically the spirit of the Academy, which is in charge of Oscar nominations and voting. Leo’s been nominated three times, but I don’t think he’s ever been close to winning an Academy Award. Is this Clooney’s influence at work? Who knows, but Marty tells Leo he needs to shape up his social life if he ever wants to win some Oscar gold:
Legendary director Martin Scorsese blasted his Wolf of Wall Street star Leonardo DiCaprio, telling the hunk to quit behaving like an immature party boy or he can kiss his Oscar dreams goodbye!
The two had the tough-love talk after Leonardo complained to Scorsese about George Clooney criticizing the actor for hanging out with a trash-talking crowd. Clooney also implied that Leonardo needs to have people with him who can keep him grounded.
Leonardo, 39, was furious when he heard about Geroge’s comments — and he was even more steamed when Scorsese, 71, seemed to side with Geroge!
“Martin told Leo he’s as gifted a performer as he’s ever worked with, but at his age he should have won two Oscars by now,” said the soruce. “Instead, Leo has been shut out by the actors and Hollywood people who cast the Oscar votes.
“He told Leo he should get serious about his life and stop hanging out with hoodlums, trying to bed every girl who catches his eye and going out partying all the time.”
The actor has dated a string of gorgeous women, including supermodels Gisele Bundchen and Bar Refaeli, but has never married. As the Enquirer has reported, his mom Irmelen is also getting on his case about settling down and giving her a grandchild.
Despite the pressure, it seems unlikely that Leonardo will change anytime soon. “Leo still loves hitting the clubs and partying it up with his posse,” the source added. “He likes his life as it is.”

I think Leo is a little bit bothered that he’s appeared in so many critically acclaimed movies and gets nominated for awards, but he’s never won the Oscar. I also believe that Martin would try to nudge Leo onto the straight and narrow. Maybe Marty encouraged him to spend less time with Victoria’s Secret models on yachts and pick up a nice, steady girlfriend for awards season. Sort of like George Clooney usually does. Of course Leo will never do this. He may want an Oscar, but the dude has his own priorities.
In oddball Leo news, NYDaily News reports that the party boy was spotted getting down last weekend in NYC’s meatpacking district on Tuesday evening. Leo was partying with a bunch of models and …. Orlando Bloom. Strange right? I guess maybe Leo’s not getting with Miranda Kerr after all. Hmm.
