Kicker Country Stampede - Day 2

Luke Bryan is a wildly-popular country music singer that has produced fan favorites like “Someone Else Calling You Baby” and “Country Girl (Shake it for me)”. The singer’s success in the country music game has lead him to accumulate a net worth of about $10 million. Those are the basic facts about Luke, but as you can tell from the title we aren’t here for the stuff you may already know about him. Before we get to things you may NOT know about Luke Bryan let’s just finish up on his stellar credentials as a country musician. The 38-year old (hard to believe he’s 38 isn’t it?) has had several number  one hits on the country music charts and was named the Academy of Country Music Awards’ Entertainer of the Year. Bryan is very popular with his female fan base, but unfortunately ladies he’s happily married to his college sweetheart. He and his wife have two sons together. So you listen to his music, you’ve been to his concert, here’s what you may not know about Luke Bryan…

Thomas Luther Bryan

Look, in this day and age you’re only as good as your stage name. Well, that’s not very true, but let’s face it. The name Luke Byran is a lot cooler than Thomas Luther Bryan. I’m not knocking his given birth name, but for the purposes of country music Luke Bryan sounds much better. Either way, I bet you didn’t know that’s his real name.

Attention Shoppers

Luke Bryan was an instant success. He wasn’t a childhood celebrity. He grew up like most of us working crappy jobs and trying to find our way. Bryan’s first job was actually at Rubo’s grocery store. He worked a couple days over the summer stocking and cleaning produce. This is right before he started helping his father on the family peanut farm.

Tragedy

On the day Luke was scheduled to leave for Nashville to pursue his country music career his brother died in a tragic car accident. Bryan decided to put his dreams on hold for a while and go back to college after the loss. He would eventually move to Music City a few years later, but in 2007 tragedy struck again. Bryan lost his sister when she died unexpectedly. As you can imagine, both events had a profound impact on Bryan and how he views life.

Business Partners

Luke Bryan is a co-owner of the Buck Commander Brand. You probably knew that. However, you may not exactly have known who he business partners are…. Willie Robertson from ‘Duck Dynasty’, Jason Aldean, former MLB players Adam LaRoche, Ryan Langerhans, and Tombo Martin. Those must be pretty cool board meetings.

Two and Done?

I know I mentioned this before, but Bryan has two boys, Thomas Boyer and Tatum Christopher. Bryan has outwardly said he would love to have a daughter, but he’s pretty sure he and his wife are done procreating. When he said that in an interview it didn’t sound too convincing.. We’ll see!
