Kodi Smit-McPhee is an Australian actor. He has featured in the films Romulus, My Father; The Road, Let Me In (2010), Matching Jack, Dead Europe, ParaNorman, voicing the title character; A Birder’s Guide to Everything, The Congress, Romeo & Juliet (2013), All the Wilderness, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, Young Ones, Slow West, X-Men: Apocalypse, and its sequel, Dark Phoenix; Alpha (2018), Dolemite Is My Name, 2067, The Power of the Dog, and Elvis (2022), and on television’s Nightmares and Dreamscapes: From the Stories of Stephen King, Gallipoli, and Interrogation.

He is the son of Sonja Smit and Andy McPhee, who is an actor and professional wrestler. His sister is actress and singer Sianoa Smit-McPhee.

Kodi’s paternal grandfather was John Robert George McPhee (the son of John Albert “Jack” McPhee and Ellen Amenda “Nell” Baker). Kodi’s grandfather John was born in Balwyn, Victoria. Kodi’s great-grandfather John was the son of Robert Alexander McPhee, whose parents were from Paisley, Renfrewshire, Scotland, and of Mary Ann King, whose parents were English, her father from Chatham, Kent and her mother from St Pancras, Middlesex. Kodi’s great-grandmother Ellen was born in Southampton, Hampshire, England.

Kodi’s paternal grandmother was named Margaret Elaine Thompson. Margaret was born in Kew, Victoria.
