Huge congratulations to Shakira - she has given birth to her second child.
The 37-year-old singer welcomed her second son with boyfriend Gerard Piqué at Quiron Teknon Hospital in Barcelona last night at approximately 11pm, where she underwent a scheduled Caesarean section.
The news was confirmed in a statement from the couple shortly before midnight. The newborn's name is yet to be revealed, but the couple are expected to release a statement later today.
The Colombian singer gave birth to her baby boy at the same clinic where she gave birth to her first son Milan two years ago.
Fellow footballer Lionel Messi was among the first to congratulate the couple, writing on Twitter: "Congratulations @shakira and @3gerardpique on the birth of your son.."
On 19 January 2015, we wrote...Shakira and Gerard Piqué - who are expecting their second child - are expanding on the idea they had when expecting their son Milan, and have created a shareable event for expectant mothers in a bid to benefit UNICEF and vulnerable children around the world.
Shakira said: "Now that we are soon welcoming our second child we want to help other children around the world and also contribute to a long-lasting solution for getting children living in extreme poverty the supplies they need to survive.
"We also want other parents to feel compelled to do the same. With the explosion of social media, celebrities aren't the only ones who have platforms that can reach mass audiences, and we want this movement to keep going long after our baby shower has ended, so we want to invite them to host their own baby showers with UNICEF as well."
Fans can share in the event by featuring a website featuring 'Inspired Gifts' - including midwifery kits with medical equipment for safe delivery of 50 babies, measles and polio vaccines, blankets, baby scales, a football and a storybook - that directly benefit UNICEF's work for children.
Fans can visit the site and donate directly via a link on Shakira's Facebook page, in which she appealed for fans to help "save the lives" of hundreds of thousands of youngsters.
She wrote: "Every woman who's expecting has the power to use the blessing of her child's imminent birth to save the lives of other, less fortunate children around the world. If every expectant mother having a baby shower decided to include among her gift registry some of these "inspired gifts" that UNICEF offers, we could collectively save the lives of hundreds of thousands of children all over the globe."
Through the Hips Don't Lie singer's Twitter page, fans can also buy a special thank you card from the couple and every one sold will unlock more funds for measles vaccines.
More information can be found at worldbabyshower.org.
The couple's first World Baby Shower, which was held from 16 January to 15 February 2013, helped vaccinate 80,000 children against polio, have four tonnes of food delivered to children suffering from malnutrition and 1,000 anti-malaria nets and 200,000 rehydration powders were distributed to those in need.
On 10 September 2015, we wrote...Shakira has revealed the sex of her second child. The singer hinted at the news in a magazine interview at the end of August. But now, Shakira's parents Nidia Ripoll and William Mebarak Chadid have come out and fully confirmed to Spanish Hola! that she and her boyfriend Gerard Pique are expecting a boy.
"We're very happy," the soon-to-be-grandparents said. "She's having another baby boy - a playmate for Milan."
Milan is the couple's first child, who is now 19 months old (and totally adorable). Who can forget THIS appearance at the World Cup.
And it looks like Shakira won't be stopping at two kids, she told Latina magazine: "I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard - My own futbol team."
Cute!

The couple already have baby Milan, who was born in January 2013, and who came on stage with his mum during a performance at the World Cup this summer, which was super cute.
Shakira, who met Gerard at the 2010 World Cup where she was performing her hit Waka Waka, said: "I will never forget that I met the love of my life at the World Cup. If it wasn't for the World Cup my son Milan would not be here."
There are rumours that the new baby will be another boy - but we'll have to wait and see! What's for sure is that with such gorgeous parents, he or she will definitely be a stunner.
On Tuesday 29 July 2014, we wrote...Could it be baby number 2 for Shakira and her boyfriend, footballer Gerard Pique? A close friend of the singer has apparently revealed the news, according to The Mirror.
Fellow Colombian singer Carlos Vives broke the story at a Miami awards ceremony, telling attendees: "Yes, she is pregnant and she's very happy."
Erm, Carlos, don't you know you're supposed to hold off until the mother has made the announcement herself with a cute bump picture on Facebook? You are SO not getting an invite to the baby shower.
The Mirror are also reporting that rumours around the singer's supposed pregnancy have emerged because "she toned down her trademark bellydancing" at the World Cup closing ceremony. So there's not a baby bump sighting, but the fact we saw a little less of Shakira's gyrating hips clearly means she's got a bun in the oven. Hmmm.
Guess we'll have to wait and see whether a little brother/sister for the most adorable toddler ever, Milan.
